Garrett Gunn is an American comic book writer and artist based in Michigan, and one of the most prolific and distinctive voices in independent comics today. Known for his irreverent humor, genre-blending storytelling, and a deep commitment to mental health advocacy, Garrett has built an extensive creator-owned catalog through Source Point Press, Scout Comics, and Bad Bug Media — with his work now reaching mainstream audiences through Simon & Schuster, who collected his breakout series Good Boy in a widely distributed omnibus edition.
His creator-owned titles span an impressive range: Franklin and Ghost (his breakout series), the reverse-John Wick dog revenge thriller Good Boy, the military unicorn fantasy Warcorns, the zombie-hands mercenary comedy Cold Dead Hands, and a slate of additional series including Cleaver County, Little Red Ronin, Fangers, Happy Place, Jabberjaw, and We Eat Gods — a catalog that reflects both his prolific output and his commitment to fun, high-concept storytelling that doesn't take itself too seriously. Earlier in his career, he also pursued acting, appearing in independent films and television before transitioning fully into comics.
His retailer exclusive variant cover for NiFe WARS Issue #1, commissioned by Comics Elite — one of the most active retailer exclusive publishers in the industry, with a brick-and-mortar store in Indianapolis and presence at over 12 conventions annually — adds yet another distinctive entry to one of independent comics' most collectible debut issues.
