Mary Landro is a Canadian comic artist and illustrator based in Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in sequential art and cover illustration with a signature dark, gritty aesthetic balanced by a bold command of color. A contracted artist at McFarlane Productions — the studio behind one of comics' most iconic independent franchises — Mary has built an impressive freelance career across sequential art, cover work, and lettering while simultaneously developing her own original IP.
Her indie credits include fully inked and lettered interior art across all three volumes of Rubicon (Comic Works Studios), interior work for Girl's Night Out (Warn Everyone Comics), and sequential pages for Moonrise and Frankenstein: The Unconquered. Beyond client work, Mary is the creator of The Gray — her own original fantasy comic series, currently running on Webtoon and with Book 1 now live on Kickstarter — a passion project that speaks to her ambition as both artist and storyteller. With 227K Instagram followers, she is one of the most organically followed independent comic artists working today.
Her two variant covers for NiFe WARS Issues #3 and #5 bring her distinctive visual intensity to a sci-fi universe that demands exactly that energy — bold, character-forward, and unmistakably her own.
