NiFe WARS Collect: Scan, Claim, and Prove Every Collectible Is Real

NEWS

Every chipped NiFe WARS collectible has a home online. Collect, at collect.nifewars.com, is where you prove a collectible is real, claim it as yours, and build a collection the whole community can see. Today that means comics and trading cards. Over time, it will cover every NiFe WARS collectible we make.

Collect bridges the physical and the digital. The collectible in your hands and its record online are one and the same: scan one, and you’re looking at the other. Who made it, who owns it, who signed it, and where it has been all live inside the collectible itself.

Over the past week we polished the entire platform. This post covers what Collect is, how it works, and why we think it changes what owning a collectible means.

How it works

Every chipped NiFe WARS collectible carries a small NFC chip with its own unique, secret code. No two are alike, and the code ties that physical copy to one record in Collect.

The chip goes in during production, sealed inside the comic’s back cover or the card itself, so it can’t be added to a fake later. It has no battery and no moving parts, and it works on iPhone and Android with no app to install.

  1. Scan. Hold your phone near the chip, then tap the notification that appears on your screen to register your collectible. No app to install.

  2. Verify. Collect opens that exact copy: the release, the artist, the variant, and its print run. If the chip is not ours, it does not resolve.

  3. Claim. Sign in and claim it. The collectible is now yours, recorded on your account.

  4. Reveal. Every claim plays a reveal cinematic with sound, themed to the rarity of what you pulled. You can replay it anytime from the collectible’s page.

How it works: Scan, Verify, Claim, Reveal

What you can do

  • Build your collection. Your profile shows every comic, card, and variant you own, with art, rarity, and print run.

  • Read it without opening it. Claiming a comic unlocks the full issue to read online, so your copy can stay sealed, slabbed, or bagged and boarded.

  • Check before you buy. Scan any copy to see its release, print run, past owners, and signatures before money changes hands. Ideal for buying online or across borders.

  • Earn points. Each claim scores by rarity, from a few points for a common up to thousands for a 1 of 1 sketch. Rarer pulls climb you up the leaderboard.

  • Compete on the leaderboard. See where you rank against collectors everywhere. Retail stores are kept off the board, so it reflects collectors only.

  • Get it signed. When an artist signs your collectible at a convention or signing event, the signature is recorded against that exact copy, with the artist, event, and date. Each signature adds 25 points and stays with the collectible forever.

  • Transfer ownership. Sold or traded a collectible? The new owner scans it and requests the transfer, and its full history moves with it. Built-in protections stop anyone from taking a collectible that is sitting on your shelf.

  • Browse every release. The Releases page lists every Blind Bag comic, retailer exclusive, metal card, and trading card, with upcoming drops shown first.

Blind Bag 3 on the Collect Releases page

The Releases page is the official catalog of everything NiFe WARS has made. Every comic, card, and variant is listed with its cover art, artist, and official print run, so you always know exactly what exists and how rare it is.

What you’ll find

  • Blind Bag comics. Sealed comics with a randomized cover inside, from Commons and Uncommons up to chase covers and hand-drawn 1 of 1 sketches.

  • Retailer exclusives. Covers made for a single store, each branded with that retailer and listed with every variant it came in.

  • Metal cards. Premium metal editions, chipped and numbered.

  • Trading cards. Series ZERO and beyond, with chipped holos and chase cards.

Every variant, in one place

Open any release to see all of its variants, always in the same order: Trade, Virgin, Foil Trade, Foil Virgin, Metal Trade, Metal Virgin, Metal GITD. Each one shows its own print run, so you can see at a glance which version is the rarest.

Upcoming releases

New drops appear in a Coming Soon section at the top before they ship. Check back to see what’s next, then be first to scan and claim when copies land.

Why it matters for collectibles

Every owner. On the record.

For decades, proving a collectible is real has meant trusting a seller, a sticker, or a grading slab. Collect puts that proof inside the collectible itself.

Imagine picking up a comic and seeing its full owner history: it was pulled by one of the NiFe WARS founders, signed by the cover artist at NYCC, then owned by a celebrity before it reached you. Until now, a story like that was a rumor. With Collect, you can prove it.

  • Authenticity you can check in seconds. Every chip carries its own unique code. A copied chip or a fake cover simply does not resolve to a real record.

  • Provenance that travels with the object. Who owned it, who signed it, and where, all recorded against that one copy. Resale history no longer gets lost in a shoebox of receipts.

  • Print runs you can trust. Each release shows its official print run, so scarcity is a published fact, not a marketing claim.

  • Signatures that are verified, not just witnessed. A signature recorded at a live event is tied to the artist’s account and the event, which makes it far harder to fake than a paper certificate.

  • A collection that is alive. Reveals, points, leaderboards, and upcoming drops turn a shelf of collectibles into something you play with and share.

Recognized by CGC. CGC officially recognizes the NiFe WARS chip, and graded NiFe WARS slabs note that the book was “manufactured with NFC tech” right on the label. Grading doesn’t break the link either: the chip reads clearly through a sealed CGC or PSA slab, so a 9.8 stays as verifiable as the day it was pulled.

Reads right through the slab.

Most collectible brands stop at the point of sale. With Collect, the relationship starts there, because every physical collectible now has a living digital side that grows with it.

How Collect is different

Chips in collectibles aren’t new, but where the chip lives makes all the difference. Coin graders like PCGS chip the plastic holder, and new encapsulation programs chip the display case. Swap the item inside, or crack it out to regrade, and the chip no longer says anything about what you’re holding.

NiFe WARS puts the chip in the collectible itself, at the factory. That means:

  • Every copy is covered, raw or graded, not just the ones that were sent in.

  • The record survives a crack-out or reholder, because it belongs to the collectible, not the case.

  • Anyone can check it. Scan the chip and see the official record, with owners and signatures, in seconds.

The stakes are real. In its Operation Bullpen investigation, the FBI reported that industry experts believe over half of the most sought-after autographed memorabilia is forged, often sold with forged certificates of authenticity. A signature recorded live, against a chip, at a real event is a different kind of proof.

Chip in the case vs chip in the collectible

Who it’s for

For collectors

NiFe WARS trading cards
  • Know it’s real. Scan before you buy, and see the exact release, variant, and print run.

  • Own a piece of history. Every collectible carries its owner and signature history. A copy once owned by a founder, a creator, or a celebrity can now prove it, and that story stays with it forever.

  • Grade it without losing it. The chip reads right through a CGC or PSA slab, so a graded copy can still be scanned, verified, and transferred.

  • Resell with confidence. Ownership and signatures transfer with the collectible, so its history adds value instead of getting lost.

  • Get rewarded. Points, leaderboard ranks, and reveal cinematics make every pull count.

For artists

Sign it. Verify it. On the spot.
  • Verified signatures, on the spot. When you sign at an event, the signature is recorded live against that exact copy, with your name, the show, and the date. No witness, sticker, or paper certificate needed.

  • Protect your name. A forged signature has no record behind it. Anyone can scan the collectible and see whether you really signed it.

  • Your work, credited. Every piece you create links to your artist page, so collectors find you and the rest of your work.

For retailers

The chip is the certificate.
  • No more paper COAs. The chip is the certificate of authenticity. It can’t be lost, separated from the collectible, or photocopied, and anyone can verify it in seconds.

  • Exclusives that stay exclusive. Your exclusives carry your store’s name in Collect, with a print run anyone can check, so counterfeits don’t hold up.

  • Sell with trust built in. Buyers scan before they buy, and the collectible’s history moves to them the moment they claim it.

FAQ

Do I need an app?
No. Most iPhones from the XS onward and NFC-enabled Android phones show a notification when held near the chip. On older iPhones, use the NFC reader in Control Center.

Does it work if my collectible is graded?
Yes. The chip reads through a sealed CGC or PSA slab.

What if the chip stops working?
The chip has no battery and no moving parts. If one ever fails, email support@nifewars.com and we’ll take care of it.

Are all trading cards chipped?
The hits are: holos, chase cards, and 1 of 1s. Base cards are not.

What if someone scans my collectible and requests it?
You’ll get the request and can decline it. Every owner gets one free decline per collectible, so a friend scanning your collectible at home is no problem. After that, declining needs a scan of the chip within 7 days, which only the person holding it can do.

What can other people see?
A collectible’s page shows its release, print run, owner username, and signing history. Your email and personal details are never shown.
