NiFe WARS Series ZERO Drops at NYCC | The First NiFe WARS Trading Card Collection

TRADING CARDS

Series ZERO is the origin set. 30,000 packs across 1,250 display boxes. That is the entire production run, and it will never be reprinted.

It launches October 8 at New York Comic Con, and only a small portion of the run will be available at the show.

Here is everything you need to know.

TL;DR

  • What it is: The first NiFe WARS trading card collection. A collectible set, not a game. No rules, no decks. Built to be opened, chased, traded and kept.

  • Capped forever: 30,000 packs across 1,250 display boxes. No reprint, no second wave, no Series ZERO ever again.

  • Two editions: Comic and Fantasy, each with its own art style and its own holo behavior.

  • Every pack contains a guaranteed holo, and every holo carries an NFC chip.

  • Launches October 8 at NYCC, Booth 1043. A limited allocation, exclusive to the show. Packs will also be given away at the booth. Presale, public sale, and live breaks follow a few weeks later.

Seven Cards Per Pack

Every pack contains five cards, one guaranteed holo, and one Kickstarter QR card.

The holo is the pull. Every single one is NFC chipped, and it can be anything from a Fantasy Holo to an Adallium.

The Kickstarter QR card points to the planned Kickstarter campaign for Series One, the full expansion set arriving in 2027. You don't need to wait for a pack to get on the list. Sign up for the Series One Kickstarter here and you'll be notified the moment it goes live.

Rare grail packs get an extra 8th card: a 1-of-1 Comic Cover, at 1 in 1,500 packs.

Twenty of those exist across the entire run. That is the whole supply, forever.

Two Editions: Comic and Fantasy

Series ZERO runs two parallel visual programs across 20 Comic characters and 15 Fantasy characters. Each edition has its own art style and its own holo structure.

Comic

Comic-style art rendered in Base line-art and Colored versions.

The six numbered holo tiers run off the 20 Comic characters: Nickel, Iron, NiFe, The Gray, Gold, and Adallium.

Fantasy

Painted fantasy art, a fully independent visual program.

One Fantasy Holo tier runs across the 15 Fantasy characters, unnumbered.

The Chases

The holo system. Six numbered tiers running off the 20 Comic characters, each one rarer than the last.

Nickel · 299 per character · 1 in 5 packs

Iron · 199 per character · 1 in 7.5 packs

NiFe · 99 per character · 1 in 15 packs

The Gray · 51 per character · 1 in 29 packs

Gold · 30 per character · 1 in 50 packs

Adallium · 10 per character · 1 in 150 packs

NiFe is nickel and iron. The tiers are named for the metals the war is fought over, climbing from the two that give the universe its name all the way to Adallium, the rarest material in the story and the rarest pull in the set.

The 1-of-1 Comic Covers

Twenty cards. One of each. These are the grails of Series ZERO.

Each one is a hand-drawn original comic cover, pulled directly from the NiFe WARS comic series and printed onto a single card. One copy exists. It will never be reprinted, never reissued, and never appear in any future set.

At 1 in 1,500 packs, most boxes will not contain one. Across the entire 30,000-pack run, only twenty will ever be pulled.

This is what every breaker is hunting. It is the card that ends a session, the pull that gets clipped and reposted, and the single hardest thing to own in the collection.

Every one is NFC chipped, so whoever pulls it can prove it is the only one that exists.

Every Holo Is NFC Chipped

30,000 holos, one in every pack, every one chipped. Add the 20 one-of-one Comic Covers, which are also chipped, and the run carries 30,020 NFC chips in total.

Hold your phone near the card and tap the notification that appears on your screen. The card authenticates itself and registers to your account at collect.nifewars.com. No app required.

What that unlocks:

  • Proof the card is real, verified at the source

  • A verified card page showing series, artist, chip ID, and full ownership history

  • Serial numbers assigned digitally rather than printed on the card

  • A public collection profile at a URL you own

  • A live leaderboard ranking collectors by the rarity of what they have pulled

  • Signature verification. When a founder or artist signs your card in person, they tap the chip and sign it digitally in the same moment. The signature is written into the card's permanent history.

It works through a sleeve, a toploader, and a CGC slab. We tested it.

Counterfeiting is the biggest unsolved problem in collecting. Every card set in history has claimed its print runs. This is the first one where you can tap the card and check.

1,250 Display Boxes. That Is the Entire Run.

A display box holds 24 packs. 1,250 display boxes have been produced, which is 30,000 packs, and 1,250 is all that will ever exist.

When they are gone, there is no second print, no reissue, no Series ZERO reprint in any form.

Series One arrives in 2027 and will print to demand. Series ZERO is fixed at 30,000 forever, which makes it permanently the scarcer of the two.

It is the origin set.

The Universe Behind the Cards

It is the year 3022. Humanity and the Grays hold a fragile peace over NiFe, the rare meta-material that powers superweapons, fuels entire civilizations, and decides who holds power in the galaxy.

At the centre of it is Melcrose. Her family was killed. Her name was taken. Her body was dismembered by Temeluchus, the god-like emperor who commands the Grays. All of it because of what lies inside her: a power that could control the universe and creation itself.

She survived. She remembers what was taken from her.

"There is no amount of sacrifice I wouldn't make… for justice." — Melcrose

The 55 original artworks in Series ZERO are drawn from this universe, across both the Comic and Fantasy editions.

Part of a Larger Universe

Series ZERO sits alongside the rest of the NiFe WARS line: the blind bag comic series, Metal Cards, retailer exclusive covers, and Youtooz vinyl figures of Melcrose and Temeluchus.

Behind it is a 1,000+ page story bible, 100+ characters, a full season of scripted anime episodes, and an animated trailer produced with Powerhouse Animation, the studio behind Castlevania, Blood of Zeus, and Devil May Cry.

The destination has never changed: an anime series on a major streaming platform.
