What's Inside Issue #1

NiFe WARS Comic Book #1 is the origin story of Melcrose — a young fighter caught in a war that started long before she was born. The issue introduces her family, her Cipher AI companion Lumina, and the empire hunting her: the Gray Alliance. Ancient, patient and made up of their most brutal warriors, the Abboritions.

This sets the stage for millennia-spanning storytelling and the war between humanity and the Grays that will forever be known as NiFe WARS.

Serg Acuña — Interior Art & All Five Holo Chase Variants

Serg Acuña is the lead artist on NiFe WARS. He penciled, inked, and colored the entire interior of Comic Book #1, and is the artist behind every single holo chase variant — Nickel, Iron, NiFe, Gold, and Adallium — plus one of the four 1/1 sketch covers.

You've seen Serg's work whether you know his name or not. His credits include DC Comics (Nightwing, Birds of Prey, The Flash, Batman: Urban Legends, Dark Crisis: War Zone), Marvel, BOOM! Studios (WWE, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly), and Netflix's Love, Death + Robots and Scavengers Reign. Mostafa Moussa — Variant Cover & 1/1 Sketch Cover

Mostafa Moussa is a 25+ year industry veteran with credits at Marvel, DC, Image, IDW, Dark Horse, and Hasbro. He has inked Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Wolverine, Deadpool, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Darth Vader, the Silver Surfer, the Hulk — basically every character you grew up with. He's the kind of artist whose work has shipped in millions of copies you didn't realize he'd touched.

Getting Mostafa on NiFe WARS Issue #1 is a serious vote of confidence in this franchise — the kind of name that anchors a launch and signals to the wider comics world that NiFe WARS is being built at flagship scale. He contributes the largest standard variant cover print run on the issue, plus one of the four 1/1 sketch covers.

Bruno Abdias — Variant Covers A & B + 1/1 Sketch Cover

Bruno Abdias is the Brazilian artist who won the 2022 Top Cow Talent Hunt out of nearly 4,000 submissions — a record-breaking field for the program. Since then, his career has exploded. His credits include DC's Titans, Detective Comics, Kal-El-Fornia Love, Cyberforce: Shootout, and White Tiger: Reborn. He is currently working on Detective Comics #1108 — the Batman flagship — at the time of this writing.

Bruno is the only artist on Issue #1 to contribute two separate variant covers. He's also one of the four artists drawing a 1/1 sketch cover. That's three chances to own his work in the same drop — at a moment when his career trajectory is steep and his original art is starting to move fast.

Bella Rachlin — Variant Cover & 1/1 Sketch Cover

Bella Rachlin is the painting powerhouse behind Marvel's Upper Deck collector card sets — including the Marvel Unbound series, where her hand-painted originals are some of the most chased pieces in the entire trading card hobby. Her work commands serious money on the secondary market and lives in the collections of high-end Marvel collectors worldwide.

She's also the most-followed artist on Issue #1 by a wide margin — over 327,000 followers on Instagram — and one of the rare contemporary comic artists working primarily in traditional painting techniques. Her variant cover for NiFe WARS Comic Book #1 is one of her first major contributions to the comics industry, and she rounds out the 1/1 sketch cover quartet.

Rare Variants & Blind Bag Breakdown

Let's reframe what "common" actually means here.

Most monthly comics print hundreds of thousands of copies. Some Marvel and DC flagship titles cross a million. The NiFe WARS Comic Book #1 Blind Bag Edition has 5,000 copies. Worldwide. Ever. That's the total ceiling and the entire variant pool, plus every numbered chase tier and every 1/1 sketch cover, is sliced from inside it.

The most "common" variant in this drop is the Mostafa Moussa cover at 1,800 copies in existence, globally. By traditional comics standards, 1,800 already qualifies as rare on day one. From there, the numbers get absurd fast: 299 Nickel Holos · 199 Iron Holos · 99 NiFe Holos · 30 Gold Holos · 10 Adalliums. That's the whole holo ladder.

Then there are the sketch covers. Four of them. One copy each. One of one — that's it, that's all that exists. Each sketch cover is also printed on premium leather paper, giving them a tactile, hand-finished weight that nothing else in the print run comes close to.
